By analogy with the information on Plitvice Lakes, we will give answers to questions, but for the rules of visiting the park Krka:
- You can buy a ticket online to Krka Park on the website, or you can buy it at the ticket office starting at 8 a.m.
The cost of the ticket depends on whether it is a morning visit to the park or an evening visit.
- Cost? What is included in the price of the park?
In 2022, the admission ticket costs 250 kuna. This includes a visit to the park, bus transportation from the Lozovac entrance to Skradinski Buk back and forth, boat transportation back and forth to the Skradinski Buk waterfall from the Skradinski entrance.
- Bathing and fishing? Entry with dogs?
Swimming has been prohibited since 2021. Fishing has always been prohibited. The fish are much smaller than at Plitvice Lakes. Entrance with dogs is allowed, unlike at Plitvice Lakes.
- What is the schedule?
The exact details can be found on the official website. From 8 to 18 definitely works) During the winter, not all entrances are open.
- Which entrance is better?
The park has about 7 locations (Skradinski Buk, Roški Waterfall, Visovac Island, Krka Monastery, Burnum) and 5 entrances... But in fact, the main location is Skradinski Buk waterfall and two entrances near it are Skradin and Lozovac.
- Which route to choose?
We visited Skradinski Buk waterfall and we didn't choose other locations because it requires further travel between villages/entrances, and according to internet reviews the best location is Skradinski Buk... In the village of Skradin there is a paid parking lot and you have to get on a boat, which will take you to the pier near the waterfall, from there walk to the main trail. No one walks from Skradin. There is a huge free parking lot at the entrance of Lozovac. And from the entrance there is a bus right to the beginning of the walking trail around the waterfall Skradinski Beech. The trail around the waterfall is about 2 km, takes 1 hour at a leisurely pace with all the photos... From the entrance of Lozovac there is a trail, 800 m long. You can walk to the waterfall on it. As an option, people go down there, walk around the waterfall and go back by bus. But in fact, the trail has no views, not convenient for walking... Therefore, it is not recommended to walk on it. But it is a necessity for those who want to visit the park Krka for free. Ideal route: parking Lozovac - bus to Skradinski Buk - trail around Skradinski Buk - walk to the boat - take the boat to the entrance Skradin - cab to the entrance Lozovac. But don't forget about the loading of the park during the season and lunchtime... It might turn out that you have to wait a few hours for the bus/boat(
- The National park Krka free entrance
Recall there are several entrances and locations in the Krka National Park. We will tell you about the free entrance only near the entrance to Lozovac, for the purpose of visiting the waterfall Skradinski Buk. If you face the barrier, there will be a piece of parking on the left (a tour bus often stands there), and immediately behind it a path goes deep into the woods. If you follow that path, it will eventually turn right and lead to a trail that starts from the official entrance at the barrier. Please note, the park is open from 8am and it is not possible to enter the park before that time. It's ideal to enter after the official opening time. But if you want to get in as much as possible before the heat, just sit on the bench on your way to the waterfall until 8/15-20. More accurately, wait for the first people to hike down after the opening. Otherwise, there are a lot of open locations near the trail around the waterfall and you can't show up there until 8am) Back out quietly through the official entrance. When you get into Krka Park for free, you can't access the bus and boat because they check tickets there. You can see the free entrance on the gps tracking map.
- How much time?
The time to visit the waterfall Skradinski Buk is 1.5 hours! with and without the bus from the entrance of Lozovac. From Skradin Inlet the boat sails for about 20 minutes, but you will have to wait for it, at lunchtime probably a couple hours or so!!!
- Parking?
There is a huge free parking lot near the Lozovac entrance. There is paid parking at the Skradin entrance.
- Where to stay?
Any village near Sibenik.
- Food?
At the end of the trail around Skradinski Buk waterfall there will be stalls, like a cafe with fast food.
- When is the best time to go?
There will be shade everywhere along the trail along Skradinsky Buk. You will be protected from the sun, unlike at Plitvice Lakes. But you will not be able to hide from people... The only convenient time is to go to the park with its opening at 8 am!
- How to dress?
Nothing in particular, the route of one location is small. You can move between locations only by car, or organize hiking with overnight stay).
- Flora and fauna?
No special vegetation. No animals. Only a little bit of fish.
- Do you need a guide?
No! There are signs to guide you around, there's nowhere to get lost... if only there was a place to walk around in general)
