Avignon - the special old town of Provence
This city is a must visit. It has a special atmosphere of an old town in excellent condition. All the buildings have been preserved and everything is functioning in a modern style - with stores and cafes. The old town is interesting to walk around from 5 to 7 pm, when everyone goes out for a walk. However, when it gets dark and everything closes - at 20:00), the city becomes no less interesting. All the storefronts and cafes are closed, but continue to shine like the day. Walking the streets of the city, you get the feeling that you are inside a big house, and the storefronts are paintings and TV screens on the walls!!! The paving stone that everything is made of, in the light of the lanterns sparkles like a fairy tale) The map shows the orange, blue and red routes - all of them on foot. The red route goes out over the bridge to the other side of the river, and you can take a boat back in the daytime. However, it is the inner part of the old city that is most interesting. To explore the city by walking 3-4 hours, so you can go here even without an overnight stay. If you arrive with an overnight stay, there are a lot of housing in the city, but a little parking. There are even free parking lots outside the old city. The map below shows paid parking in the old city limits. We parked in the center of the city. Feature: to get to the parking lots inside the old city, you need to ignore the road signs, such as a brick and white circle)) If you obey them there is no way to get to the parking lot, tested))) The signs are specified to keep commuters out of the old town, so that only locals drive.
