The quarry "On the Detour" in Dnieper is not as famous as the Old Kodaky quarry. But it is not inferior in beauty, it can even compete! - so was written the review in the winter of 2021) We visited the quarry at the end of April... And the opinion changed! There is "no place for an apple to fall" - car to car, a lot of quads that are always making noise... This is all complemented by banging music from the cars... Rest and relaxation - 0! Were on a weekday, not even on a weekend or a holiday...
This place is convenient for recreation that is almost in the city limits, good roads for direct access to the water. Below on the map you can see the route from the city center. If you are driving from the center of Dnieper, the turn to the quarry will be on the left, just before the gas station. The road will go to the right, going straight to the water. The roads to the left will lead to Kirov Forest.
Near the water is a mixed deciduous-coniferous forest. A little further away from the water is "young pine forest". Therefore, this is clearly a mushroom spot for lovers of butter mushrooms).
The quarry itself is not a large radius and for 15 minutes it can be bypassed on foot. But the nature here is beautiful, all around very cozy. It is also a favorite place to ride quads, similar to the pine forest in Prydniprovsk.
The descent to the water is gentle. The sand is clean, there is straight chic beach places near the water. There is a barbecue place with views of the surrounding area a little bit higher) But the place is very small! What happens here on holidays and in the summer? For example, in Elizavetovka on the Blue Lakes on the holidays you can not even try to go - "sprats in a jar, the market on a market day," etc.. - There will be synonyms of rest!
The quarry on the detour is also good, that if you do not have enough space by the water, we go to the old pine forest. Below is the driving route. The forest is large enough to accommodate many campers. The roads are rutted, it's impossible to get lost - there are people and cars everywhere) And we were in February 2021, what is the summer here, though?))
If you go through the woods, as shown on the map, you will get to the gas station and the church. Landmark church, or rather a spring where everyone gets a lot of healing water. True, the church is somehow not on google maps.
The number 3 is the island, the walk to which is described below.
At the exit from the forest, the road, if you go left, is the way back to the city center, through the left bank. And if you cross the road and go straight to the private sector, you'll meet the Dnieper River embankment. On the left is a large private house (where we park), and a little bit to the right is an antediluvian metal bridge. After crossing the bridge, we get to the area of "Garden Association". We go left along the boat sheds, along the water. We come to one more bridge. After crossing it you get to the real island with wildlife) Actually it's just beautiful here! There are places for fishing and beach recreation, but not the masses, and so, for the select few who read this review) Below is a photo of the view that opens from a small beach on this nice island!
