The above described route exactly fits into the daylight hours, arriving in the city at 9-10 am. Shopping malls and outlet stores can be left for the dark time of day. Ideally, of course in Warsaw to allocate 2 days, with one night. The first day to visit the old city, the library and the park, and the second day in the morning to walk through the zoo, and then shopping).
The Old Town in Warsaw is not large and the whole walk takes about half an hour. The Royal Castle can be seen from two sides, from the side of the embankment is a beautiful view of the royal terraces. From the Royal Palace we walk through the Market Square to the fortress gates - Barbakan, and from there along Podwale street back to the Royal Square with the castle.
After a walk through the old city, we go to the roof garden of the National University Library. For this, from the Royal Castle, we walk along the street - Royal Tract / way, which smoothly turns into Krakow Suburb / street with beautiful houses. These two popularized streets are nothing but ordinary streets with nice houses) Just behind the residence of the president in the palace turn left and go as indicated on the map below to the library. After the library you can go to the promenade - Vistula Boulevards and walk back to the parking lot along the dreary promenade. The whole walk is +/- 2 hours. The library's rooftop garden is an unusual phenomenon) Admission is free. You can stroll around as the atmosphere here is kind of cozy, but don't expect any extravagances... The whole idea of the park is valuable, there's nothing repetitive. Walking around the trails is a pleasure, and the couples on the benches add charm to this place))))
Then we went to the food court/restaurant court "Hala Koszyki" for lunch. In fact, in the Arcadia shopping mall the food court is bigger... And there are a few fast food places and a couple of low-quality restaurants (tested!) On the way we passed the legendary Palace of Culture and Science) We can't recommend anything to visit here.
Poland's parks are essentially wooded areas with paths... Lazienki Park is not very different, but you can spend an hour here for a walk along the lakes. There are a lot of tame squirrels in the park! - The route of the walk is shown on the map, it is the best, there is nothing else to see in the park. Entrance to the park with dogs is prohibited!!! Points 1, 2, 3 - photo locations are also listed on the map. Near position 1 there are a lot of hand squirrels) Near position 2 - giant carps in the water! Parking is free.
The zoo in Warsaw is quite large. It takes two hours, no less, to walk all of it... From the definition, the zoos do not excite you, but at least it is not as miserable as in Krakow Zoo. It is not worth going especially, but if you are in Warsaw, you should definitely go. Parking near the entrance is chargeable by the hour. Entrance to the zoo costs 30 PLN per person. Below is a map of the zoo. After the entrance, immediately turn right and move along the squares, reaching the end, we will come out on the wide street, along it go back and look at the objects that are on the left.
Shopping in Warsaw
For shopping we visited Designer Outlet Warszawa and Arkadia shopping center. The outlet is of medium quality, you can't recommend to go there, unlike for example any outlet in Austria or Italy.... And it is almost outside the city of Warsaw, so it is not very nice to go there. But Arcadia shopping center took our fancy) It's relatively close to the zoo / old town and there is a place to walk around the stores and eat on the food court. Arcadia is a pretty big shopping complex. The range of clothes really doesn't differ from the same shopping malls in Gdańsk.
Warsaw for travelers
What city in Poland should travelers go to? For visual beauty and the possibility to walk with views, we most liked Gdansk, not Warsaw)
