Lifehacks on visiting the Black Lake:
- The most beautiful lake is just in May, around the twenties. Earlier there will be no greenery and it will be cold. Even May 19, 2022, it was 15 degrees, even though it's already 28 on the coast! Later in the summer, the lake will dry out and lose its "aquarium" charm. This charm is achieved by melted water from the mountains, which fills the lake, floods the shore and with it, the green grass, which has already grown! It is connected with the waterfall Seline (Čeline), which rises from under the rocks, precisely because of the melting water. This waterfall exists only for about 2 weeks, exactly at the end of May. Waterfall is a melted snow, which at the beginning of spring flows in a thin stream under the ground, and during the rapid warming in May, the water is squeezed out from the ground / rocks and turns into a waterfall. The lake floods the shore, but does not completely flood everything around it, as the water flows into the Tara and Sushitsa rivers. In summer, the Black Lake dries up and you can cross between the two "halves" of the lake by land / ford. Also at the end of May there are not many tourists and you can enjoy the local nature - it's gorgeous! In summer, they say people walk back-to-back on the trail here... That's why in summer they advise you to visit the lake from 7-8 am! Otherwise, buses with "hamster tourists" arrive in the afternoon.
- You can walk around the lake at any time of the year. But the moment there is a Seline Falls, you need boots! Or you will have to roll your pants up to your knees and walk on the icy meltwater. The waterfall consists of several sections. As a result, you'll have to walk barefoot in the cold for quite a long time...
- Free admission and parking at Black Lake is the village of Ivan Doo! You won't have to change your route or make detours - everything is on the way. Drive to Black Lake, before the barrier with the ticket office, a sharp right turn "Ivan Do", drive to the end of the road, look for parking just before the woods. Follow the path through the forest to the lake.
From the trail around the Black Lake hiking routes to Bobotov Kuk start - the travel time is about 6 hours in one direction - it is for chosen ones) In the park Durmitor we get through Zabljak. Before reaching Zabljak, there is a turn on Savin Kuk - the elevator on this mountain. But in the off-season it does not work. Kind of on June 1 it starts to work, and in winter of course it works. If you go further to the lake Sushichko, then you will see a panorama of Zabljak! It's really beautiful - like alpine meadows)))). But there is not enough developed infrastructure here, it's still far away from "Bukovel country")
Seline Falls is nothing less than the snow from Mt. Bobot Cook. The next logical photos on the walking trail would be the following)
Close-up photo - yes you are not mistaken - this is the trail around the lake with the meltwater pouring on it)
