La Sciota - a beach town
La Ciotat seemed like a depressing town compared to Cassis. In Cassis, life boils in early October, in La Ciotat you can clearly feel the deep end of the season. In summer, La Ciotat will be livelier, as it has a long and wide strip of beaches. It is possible to settle on the first line for affordable money.
La Ciotat's promenade will still be a three. The promenade along the water is there, but there are no cafes or stores. The center is considered the old town and the port. There is a well-known photo from the Internet (below it is given). From the port, one of the roads will go up to the left. You can go for a walk in the park and look at La Ciotat's calanque. It's a depressing sight! The park is in a semi-abandoned state, although in season the entrance is even paid!) Before entering the park there will be one calanque on the left. If you walk through the park, the road will first go to the right, then to the left uphill, there will be a view of more calanques) The French call the coves calanques, and tourists are happy to try to climb them as attractions - a mass delusion)
Cassis is a great option for walks
- Walking boats start from the center along the calanques of Cassis.
- The first calanque "Calanque de Port-Miou" can be reached on foot.
- There is an elevated fortress in the center of the old town.
- The streets of the old town are fully functional - the doors of small stores and cozy cafes are open, it smells like French perfume!
- At the beginning of October, the city is "alive"!
