Skadar Lake is an attraction in itself in Montenegro, but the main ones, of course, are the town of Virpazar and the viewpoints along the panoramic road:
- Viewpoint Donji Murići - a perfect atmosphere of tranquility. Down there is even a full-fledged beach on the shore of Lake Skadar. Worth a visit if you have a lot of free time for hiking.
- Vidikovac Stegvas - this observation point offers views in two directions at once - to Skadar Lake Montenegro and already to another country Albania! However, it is not cozy and windy and there is no advertising. We would not recommend to visit at all.
In the end, if you break it down, we liked the panoramic points on the river Crnojevica completely, and the view of Lake Skadar (behind Virpazar towards Albania) - so-so). The town of Virpazar is another "trap" of hamster tourists. From here the pleasure boats start on the lake. But what is there to see? From the highway, all the best views!
Pavlov Country is a vantage point on the Crnojevica River, which flows into Lake Skadar
It is worth a visit! It is not a long way down from the highway. The road is good. On the way the views change a little, but the main view is shown on the photo below. Pavlova Strana Viewpoint is the name of the observation point. It takes about 30 minutes to get down from the trailhead, take a photo, and get back on the trail. But it's so beautiful here, you want to sit and admire it! Also, if you go right from the panoramic point, you can take the serpentines straight to the village of Virpazar on Lake Skadar. On the way there is another panoramic point on the way - "Mirador". It is worth to come here for sure! To this point, the travel time is about 30 minutes. Further on to Virpazar - it is up to you. Travel time is still about 1.5 hours. But then there is not much excitement and views. And from Virpazar starts Skadar Lake, the route of which is described above.
