Kemer - one of the most popular resorts in Turkey
Kemer is a city, and the tourist spot with an influx of penguin tourists is the village of Beldebi. Like most travelers, we started with a package tour to Turkey in 2017 here.
For fans of swimming on the beach and in the pool, Beldebi will appeal, as it's all there and still has views of the gorgeous mountains. For real travelers, it's boring and rural. Leaving the hotel, you enter the street with other hotels. There is no infrastructure at all. Started to explore the area in search of interesting and beautiful, below is what we found.
- Kemer - There is a promenade with a folklore park-museum "Folklorik Yörük Parkı Açık Hava Müzesi" at the end. The promenade consists of hotels, not appealing at all! The park is in the area around the port. It has one name, not a park. There are some benches on the hill and two "Turkish or Tatar" houses and they charge money for admission. You can not even go up, there is nothing to see! Well unless the view on the seafront of Kemer panoramic opens. To get to the city from Beldi you can independently by bus (stops on a wave of his hand and drop off where you ask).
Package tour: Phaselis Müzesi ancient ruins, Olympos Teleferik cableway, Chimaera Mountain, Yanartas restaurant, "Waterfall and Trout" restaurant.
We advise you to do the same, because to get to all of these places is not hands-on, there are no direct buses. It is better to rent a car and see everything by yourself. But it is better to see everything by yourself... All listed sights are "pulled behind the ears" and are not worth your attention! The excursion takes the whole day. If you have a rest in Beldeby, it is like a real find something to occupy yourself) Below about each place a little more detail.
- Ruins of the ancient city of "Phaselis" - if you've never seen before ruined ancient cities, yes bravely go. But if you've been here before, for example in Greece, then there is nothing to do. Ruins here in the literal sense. The review can be spent for 30-40 minutes with a photo and a rest on a bench!
- The Olympos Teleferik cable car is spectacular if you've never been on a cable car or seen the city from a bird's eye view before. But it is nothing compared to the funiculars on Ai-Petri (Crimea) and Montebaldo (Lake Garda, Italy). The advantage of coming here with a tour, again, is that there is no need to think about tickets and queues at the elevator. At the top of the plateau is very small, there is no place to walk. The views for the beginner will be okay, for the experienced - boring. To all the top is very strong !!! wind and generally cold even when at the foot of "the heat of July". I would have needed a cap and pants instead of shorts)))
- Yanartas or eternal fire. Another scam and lure for the "ruso-tourist"! You will be brought to the mountain and then you'll climb on their own, the guide will not even go) will say that the trail is one, do not get lost) That's right! You will need to walk up at a medium pace of 20-40 minutes, depending on training. People with uncomfortable shoes or at an age turned around halfway back. You have to walk on tree roots and rocks, which is very uncomfortable. Below is a photo of the best shots at the top)!
- The restaurant "Waterfall and Trout" is supposed to be a nice ending to the evening (included in the price of the tour). But it wasn't) In the end, it is a pathetic parody of comfort, more like a canteen, or rather a diner. And not on the waterfall, but on the sewage from some pipe... And the grilled trout was...something. Overdried fish called trout with lots of small bones. Drinks on the house, even tea(
In general, whether you need this tour and review of these places, you decide)
Geynyuk Canyon - the best place in the Kemer region
It is very close to Beldebi. It was the visit to this place that left positive memories of the whole trip to the Kemer region.
There are no excursions from Beldeby, because it is very close and the entrance costs kopecks, just it is not profitable to make tours to the Turks. However, to get here is not so easy. You can get to the turn to the canyon by any intercity bus. But to the entrance to the canyon trail you have to walk or take a rented car. Walking back there, plus the canyon walk is realistic, but quite tiring. You have to get to the canyon well in advance, since the entrance is open until 6pm. The exit is possible at any time, but there is a possibility of having to climb over the fence. The walk through the canyon takes at least 2-3 hours. Everywhere are signs of the route and maps, get lost not as - all marked, the main road is the same. Hiking trail goes along the top of the canyon. The complexity and the passability of the route under absolutely everything, from small to old) photos do not convey the scale and effectiveness of the views at all! The mountain goes along the canyon is very close, the river flows below, the rocks directly overhang the road - even breath takes your breath away with delight!)
Kemer and the village Beldebi - popular not expensive resorts in Turkey, unlike, for example, expensive Marmaris with similar views. The views around are beautiful, but the sights are weak:
- The promenade with Folklorik Yörük Parkı Açık Hava Müzesi is a 4-
- Package excursion includes all neighboring attractions of Kemer: Phaselis Müzesi ruins, Olympos Teleferik cableway, Yanartas eternal flame, "Waterfall and Trout Restaurant" 3+
- Canyon Geynük - a picturesque place for walks at 5+
The advantage of Kemer are inexpensive hotels, while 5***** and beautiful views around. Travelers are bored)
